I was excited about having the chance to compete in athletics and participate in undergraduate research opportunities, so the decision to attend UHSP was an easy choice for me. My dream job is to be a pediatric anesthesiologist, so I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at UHSP and then plan to attend medical school after graduation.

Research has always been my intent. I applied to the Research Scholars program and met with Dr. Bucholtz and Dr. Escudero. Everyone I talked to made me feel welcome and excited to come here and potentially do research. At UHSP, you can help conduct research, like tissue culture, in the Center for Clinical Pharmacology within your first year, which is rare and such a great opportunity. Coming to UHSP was an easy choice for me.

I tell new students that this place becomes home, because even though it’s a big extended community, we all know each other and support each other, including the faculty and staff. The coaches always say that school comes first, and the students tutor each other. We all support one another.

When I first stepped foot on the UHSP campus for a tour, I immediately fell in love. Even though it is a small school, the faculty and students are all hardworking and kind, and I was attracted to the opportunities that the University offers to students.
