Clery Act Reporting

The University reports on and provides campus security information, including an annual security and fire safety report and crime statistics for campus and the surrounding area, in compliance with the Clery Act.

Stop Campus Hazing Act

The Stop Campus Hazing Act was signed into law late in December 2024. The law was passed unanimously in the Senate and House before being signed by President Biden and represents a significant step in national efforts to prevent hazing by improving hazing reporting and prevention efforts on college campuses.

UHSP has always taken hazing seriously and has worked to raise awareness about hazing and prevent hazing in any form on our campus. The Stop Campus Hazing Act adds another layer to our prevention efforts by requiring the enhancement of transparency, and prioritizing prevention efforts.

  • Campus Security Authorities (CSA’s) are now required to report hazing. For more information about CSA’s and the Clery Act, please visit our Clery Act Reporting page.
  • Universities will need to disclose incidents of hazing on campus as a crime statistic in their Annual Security Report (ASR).
  • Universities must publish a Hazing Transparency Report and update at least twice per year.
  • Universities must provide campus-wide, research-informed hazing prevention training and awareness programs
  • Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, Universities must begin collecting hazing statistics.
  • June 2025, we will update our Hazing Policy to align with the law’s definitions. You can also visit the UHSP policy website to view the Conduct Code and the Hazing Policy for students.
  • December 2025, we will publish our first Campus Hazing Transparency Report which summarizes reported hazing incidents, alleged violations, description of findings and sanctions imposed if applicable. Our Campus Hazing Transparency Report will be updated at least twice per year beginning in December 2025.

There are several ways to report hazing at UHSP. If you or someone you know has experienced hazing, we encourage you to submit a report through the Incident Reporting Form or you can submit a report anonymously via UHSP’s compliance and ethics hotline. For more information about this legislation, and to view a copy of the law in its entirety, you can visit StopHazing.Org and learn more about the Stop Campus Hazing Act.

Students of Concern Committee

The Students of Concern Committee provides a confidential support system for early intervention of at-risk students. The committee receives referrals from the campus community about students for several reasons, including but not limited to academic, personal, financial, mental health or behavioral concerns.

COVID-19 and CARES Act Reporting

UHSP continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and asks that all visitors and UHSP community members remain mindful of their symptoms and follow guidelines from authoritative agencies.

The University reports on the use of funds received through CARES Act and offers additional emergency support to students facing crisis through the Students of Concern Committee.
