For Undergraduate
and graduate Students
Following the University’s recent announcement, we understand that there are still many questions about what this means for you. We are working diligently to get you answers as soon as possible. Information will be posted to this page as it is finalized.
See the section below that corresponds to your student group for more information on how this announcement and subsequent transition impacts you.
Options to Continue Your Education
Individual plans will be created for each student that will assist them in continuing their educational journeys, either through UHSP, WashU, teach-out agreement or traditional transfer. UHSP faculty and staff will meet with students by the end of March to discuss their options.
UHSP
Should you desire to stay at UHSP for the 2026-27 academic year, you will absolutely be able to do so. If you are unable to complete your degree by the end of that year, you will then transfer to another institution to finish your educational journey.
WASHU
Teach-out agreements with WashU through their Continuing & Professional Studies (CAPS) school are being formulated for a select number of undergraduate programs. More information to come.
TEACH-OUT AGREEMENT
A formal agreement between UHSP and another institution that provides guaranteed credit transfer, same or similar net tuition and fees, and timely degree completion, ensuring a seamless academic transition.
TRADITIONAL TRANSFER
A pathway to an institution of your choice that is done between the student and the new school of choice, following the regular process of transfer admission with supportive advising.
What Does This Mean for Me?
Undergraduate Students
University operations and your coursework will continue as normal for the remainder of the spring 2026 semester. Faculty and staff will meet with you before the end of the semester to map out an individual plan for completing or continuing your education.
Graduate Students
MPH courses will continue at UHSP through the end of the 2026-27 academic year. At its conclusion, UHSP’s graduate programs will no longer be taught. Those on track to complete the program by spring or summer 2027 will graduate from UHSP. Those on a part-time pace who aren’t on track to complete by this time may need to consider a shift to a full-time pace to complete their program in time. Options can be discussed with your advisor during your one-on-one meetings.
