Following the University’s recent announcement, we understand that there are still many questions about what this means for you. We are working diligently to get you answers as soon as possible. Information will be posted to this page as it is finalized.

Options to Continue Your Education

Individual plans will be created for each student that will assist them in continuing their educational journeys, either through UHSP, WashU, teach-out agreement or traditional transfer. UHSP faculty and staff will meet with students by the end of March to discuss their options.

Should you desire to stay at UHSP for the 2026-27 academic year, you will absolutely be able to do so. If you are unable to complete your degree by the end of that year, you will then transfer to another institution to finish your educational journey.

Teach-out agreements with WashU through their Continuing & Professional Studies (CAPS) school are being formulated for a select number of undergraduate programs. More information to come.

A formal agreement between UHSP and another institution that provides guaranteed credit transfer, same or similar net tuition and fees, and timely degree completion, ensuring a seamless academic transition.

A pathway to an institution of your choice that is done between the student and the new school of choice, following the regular process of transfer admission with supportive advising.

What Does This Mean for Me?

Undergraduate Students

University operations and your coursework will continue as normal for the remainder of the spring 2026 semester. Faculty and staff will meet with you before the end of the semester to map out an individual plan for completing or continuing your education.

If you are completing your program requirements this semester, you will graduate from the University in May as planned. Classes will continue as normal for the remainder of the semester. Keep an eye on your inbox throughout the spring for commencement ceremony details and instructions. If you are interested in continuing your education with a Doctor of Pharmacy, you can still apply to St. Louis College of Pharmacy through the normal process.

If you are on track to finish your program by the end of the 2026-27 academic year, you may continue your education to completion at UHSP. If you are interested in continuing your education with a Doctor of Pharmacy, you can still apply to St. Louis College of Pharmacy when the time comes.

If you are early in your program and not on track to complete your education by spring 2027, you will likely not have time to finish your program at UHSP. You are welcome to remain at UHSP through the 2026-27 academic year if you choose, however you will need to explore our teach-out or traditional transfer options to complete your degree.

Through teach-out agreements, you will receive the same or similar tuition rate and educational timeline as you had at UHSP.

UHSP is developing teach-out arrangements with several institutions, and information on those agreements will be posted to this page as they are finalized. We hope to have more details on teach-out options by the end of March.

Graduate Students

MPH courses will continue at UHSP through the end of the 2026-27 academic year. At its conclusion, UHSP’s graduate programs will no longer be taught. Those on track to complete the program by spring or summer 2027 will graduate from UHSP. Those on a part-time pace who aren’t on track to complete by this time may need to consider a shift to a full-time pace to complete their program in time. Options can be discussed with your advisor during your one-on-one meetings.

Yes, no matter your program or student level, you can continue your education at UHSP through the next academic year (2026-27). Those who still need to complete program requirements after that year will need to pursue a teach-out or traditional transfer with another institution to complete their education.

Every undergraduate program will have teach-out options. These agreements are currently being developed with several institutions for each of our undergraduate programs. More information and specific details will be shared in April. Stay tuned for more.

Yes, University operations, including athletic seasons, will continue as normal for the remainder of the spring 2026 semester.

As we move into the 2026-27 academic year, we will continue to provide students the opportunity to play for teams as long as there are a sufficient number of players to compete. We will continue to examine rosters throughout the year to ensure viable numbers for continued athletic participation.

If you are on track to graduate at the end of the 2025-26 or 2026-27 academic years, you will graduate from UHSP and receive a UHSP diploma.

Students who transition to WashU via a teach-out or a traditional transfer and complete program requirements there will graduate with a WashU degree.

Housing options will be available to students for the 2026-27 academic year. Student housing options following the 2026-27 academic year are still being evaluated. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
