Transfer Partnerships
In addition to teach-out agreements, UHSP has also pursued transfer partnerships with multiple institutions in the area. Transfer partnerships do not offer all the protections of a teach-out agreement but do come with more benefits than the traditional transfer process.
Keep in mind that pursuing transferring to another institution in the middle of a semester will cause you to lose credit transfer. Making a move to a partner institution between semesters will ensure all eligible coursework moves with you.
Steps to Pursuing a Transfer
Step 1: Identify transfer options for your academic program
UHSP has developed multiple transfer agreements for each program. Explore your options based on your major. See lists below.
Step 2: Explore the partner school that you have an interest in
Be sure to do your research. Visit partner school website(s) to learn more about what they have to offer outside of your academic program. Consider scheduling a campus visit to get a sense for their on-campus experience.
UHSP is also hosting a Teach-Out and Transfer Fair on Thursday, April 23, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Institutions we have developed teach-out and transfer partnerships with will be on campus to answer your questions and share more about their schools.
Step 3: Fill out the FERPA release form in Campus Web
The FERPA release form grants permission to UHSP to share academic and financial records with institutions of interest.
Note: UHSP is only able to provide its own transcripts to partner institutions. If you have credits from other institutions, you will need to provide any new school/s with an official transcript from all previous institutions.
step 4: Reach out to the transfer institutions you’re interested in
Contact the admissions department of the transfer institutions you are interested in. Inform them that you are a UHSP student seeking to transfer institutions. Their team will guide you through the remaining enrollment steps.
