center for clinical pharmacology
Established in 2015, the Center for Clinical Pharmacology is a joint venture between University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) and the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
The collaboration was created to find safer and more effective ways to use prescription medications. With the center’s initial efforts focused on research to better understand and improve the treatment of pain, the center has continued to diversify to include investigators engaged in a variety of research areas.
Center Spotlight: Susruta Majumdar
Since 2018, Susruta Majumdar, Ph.D., associate professor of medicinal chemistry and pharmacology at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, and his research colleagues, have been on a quest to find new avenues to create safer opioid medications.
