Preview Day Welcomes Prospective Students to Campus

St. Louis College of Pharmacy welcomed more than 150 high school students, prospective transfer students
For some prospective students, the event creates a connection to campus that helps them make their college decision.
“I remember my first visit to campus,” said P1 student Ashley Collins. “I was so excited, and learning more about the College just reassured me that I was meant to be here.”
During the event, prospective students toured
Richard McCall, Ph.D., professor of physics and chair of the Department of Basic Sciences, and Bob
Rebecca Jones, assistant vice president for student affairs, shared information about the various student support services that are available on campus, such as tutoring and mentoring.
“Informing students and their families about support opportunities is not only comforting, but it makes the process of selecting a College a little less stressful,” Jones said. “Knowing that you have people who want to help you succeed even before you officially become a student provides a sense of relief and excitement for prospective students.”
Current student ambassadors, Alonzo Pierre, P2, Taylor Klein, P1, Eric Johnston, junior, Ashley Collins, P1, and Amy Wong, P3, shared their personal stories about attending the College.
“I want prospective students to know that we have a place for them here,” said P3 student Amy Wong. “Whether you’re interested in basketball, art or anything in between, we have an organization that will spark your interest.”
Attendees finished the day by enjoying lunch with current students in the Recreation and Student Center cafe.
