As the population ages, the need for podiatrists continues to grow. Working in a range of fields from surgery and sports medicine to pediatrics and diabetic care, podiatrists enjoy challenging and exciting heath care careers focused on treating the foot, ankle and structures of the leg. Podiatrists also maintain an average 40–60-hour work week while earning salaries comparable to other medical specialties.
