In recognition of our most generous donors, University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis has established leadership giving societies. Membership in these societies is renewable based on gifts made or facilitated by an individual and their spouse.
Organization matching gifts count toward membership if they are received or verified within the calendar year.

Mortar and Pestle Society

UHSP gratefully acknowledges the continued contributions of our donors. Your support helps ensure a quality education and expands student and faculty opportunities at the University.

By making an annual contribution of $1,000 or more, you will become a member of the Mortar and Pestle Society. Lifetime membership starts at $10,000 in cumulative giving.

  • Invitations to exclusive, complimentary annual events like the spring dinner and winter reception
  • A prominent listing in the UHSP annual honor roll
  • Communication including campus news, updates on University activities and regional and campus events

Members of the M&P Society

1864 Society

Named in honor of the founding of University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, the 1864 Society recognizes supporters who have made a major commitment to the University. Such giving plans might be made through a will or trust, a life-income plan such as a charitable gift annuity, designating UHSP as the beneficiary of a life insurance or retirement plan or other special planned gifts.

Members of the 1864 Society build on the past by making a mark on our future. They are a distinguished part of the UHSP community, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to academic excellence and making a difference in the life of every student.

Women’s Giving Initiative

The Women’s Giving Initiative (WGI) is a group of alumnae, pharmacy professionals and community leaders invested in making an impact on the lives of students at UHSP. By joining resources, members contribute to the academic and personal well-being of students by supporting programs that provide opportunities to enhance their professional and personal skills.

Join us in supporting the next generation of health care leaders. All gifts are greatly appreciated, and dollars raised each calendar year will support students during the following academic year. Those who donate $1,000+ during the calendar year are considered voting members and are invited to meet each spring to determine how the funds raised from the previous year will be used.

  • Student Research Fund to create on-campus opportunities for students with an interest in research.
  • Student Opportunities Fund to help students engage in personal and professional development opportunities like conferences, international rotations or career development programs.
  • Student Emergency Fund to support students during an unexpected time of need like a natural disaster, family illness or medical emergency, so they can continue their education.

  • Invitation to WGI-sponsored social and professional development events throughout the year
  • Donors who give at the $1,000+ level annually receive free or reduced admission to WGI-sponsored events and will be recognized as a part of UHSP’s Mortar and Pestle Society
