Preceptor Development
All preceptors are encouraged to continually sharpen their precepting skills. In addition to our in-house programs, we partner with other vendors to provide preceptors with complimentary preceptor development and continuing education resources.
CEI
CEI is a website formed to help pharmacists connect learning to practice through preceptor teaching and continuing education.
Example programs include:
- Preceptor Development: Preceptor Orientation
- Instilling Professionalism and Confidence in Student Pharmacists
- Millennial Students: Teaching a New Generation of Future Pharmacists
- Tools to Facilitate Student Success with Your Learning Experience
Preceptors can log in to CEI using the user name and password provided by the Office of Experiential Education.
Programming through the Office of Continuing Professional Development
The Office of Continuing Professional Development at the University offers a wide variety of programs for pharmacists in a range of practice settings. Programs are often held on campus, but may be offered regionally or online.
Some programs are specifically directed towards preceptor development while others may be clinical or business in nature. Visit the Office of Continuing Professional Development to see current programming.
Library Resources at the University
Using their UHSP log in credentials, preceptors can access preceptor-specific resources through the University library site to help preceptors develop quality educational experiences and become a more effective preceptor, mentor and career advisor. Resources available include the Preceptor’s Handbook for Pharmacists and APhA’s Pharmacy Library Preceptor Central.
