An Intimate Community on an Intimate Campus
Our campus is located on nearly nine acres within the Washington University Medical Campus in the Central West End neighborhood.
With just two academic buildings and two residence halls, all connected by the Quad, a green space that provides a breath of fresh air in between classes and the perfect space to gather with friends, our campus provides an intimate setting to form lasting connections with your peers, professors, staff and alumni.
Our central location within one of the nation’s premier biomedical complexes allows us to forge partnerships in research and resources expanding student opportunity in and outside the classroom. These opportunities cultivate an interprofessional environment for students that sets them apart when they leave our halls for postgraduate and professional studies and impactful careers.
The University is home to several major academic and research centers on campus.
- The Center for Clinical Pharmacology was established by University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The center features more than 12,000 square-feet of dedicated to research space and receives funding from a number of organizations across the United States, including the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. Areas of research study range from research toward drug development to treat a range of human diseases including autoimmune diseases and cancer to drug design and the fight against opioid abuse.
- The Center for Health Outcomes Research and Education was established by the University in collaboration with Express Scripts Inc. to examine how the optimal use of medications can improve health outcomes and help build healthier societies.
- The Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education at Washington University Medical Campus was established by University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish-College, and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis to further the goal of improving patient safety and quality in health care through interprofessional and collaborative practice.
