Housing for First- and Second-Year Students

Designed to foster balance between students’ academic and social activities, North Residence Hall is home for UHSP’s first- and second-year undergraduate students. Located on floors five through seven of the Recreation and Student Center (RAS), North Hall has room for up to 220 students.

Single- and Double- Occupancy Rooms

Bedrooms in North Residence Hall are shared by two roommates and feature views of either the city or the campus Quad. Two bedrooms are linked by a bathroom shared by four suitemates. Each room is fully furnished with an extra-long twin bed, desk, desk chair, dresser and closet for each resident. The bathroom features a shower, toilet and double-sink vanity.

Students requesting a single room will be housed in a double-occupancy space with two sets of furniture.

Gender-Inclusive Housing

Residence life provides a nurturing community atmosphere that values diversity and promotes the dignity of all people. Gender-inclusive housing is available for single rooms in North and South Residence Halls. These designated room types allow suitemate pairings regardless of physical sex.

Students interested in gender-inclusive housing should contact residence life staff. All disclosed information is kept confidential, and staff will not ask for more information than is required to meet students’ housing needs.

Recreation and Student Center

Located below North Hall on the on the first floor of the Recreation and Student Center, you’ll find the full-service dining hall and our competition gym, where you can cheer on the Eutectics’ basketball and volleyball teams. Located on the third floor, the student lounge is home to ping-pong and pool tables, a video game lounge and TV area. Across from the student lounge, the Student Fitness Center provides state-of-the-art equipment, a two-lane, 200-meter indoor track, recreational gymnasium and a group exercise room.
