francis hemm leadership society

Our success is rooted in the innovative and loyal leaders who provide valuable support and insight to our community. To recognize these leaders who go above and beyond, the Francis Hemm Leadership Society was born.

After completion of their term, alumni council members are welcomed into the Francis Hemm Leadership Society. The society also includes former alumni members the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Association’s board of directors.

Want to Join the Alumni Council?

The Alumni Council accepts applications year-round. Council member seats typically open in the spring. A selection committee of current council members review applications, host interviews and select applicants who will bring a rich and varied set of skills to the council. Applications received will be kept on file should any vacancies occur within the year. All alumni are eligible to serve.

Council members serve through actions like:

  • Serving as an advocate for the University within the greater community.
  • Attending and participating in alumni and University programs and events at their own expense.
  • Promoting alumni engagement with the University and alumni community.
  • Supporting the University’s philanthropic mission by donating annually.
  • Assisting in identification of prospective donors, volunteers and leaders.
  • Attending 75% of council meetings and any special meetings called by the council executive committee per term.
  • Participation and leadership in standing committees and potential strike force teams.
  • Volunteering at special events or with special projects as requested.
