Members of the UHSP Community Named Next-Generation Pharmacist Finalists

Four members of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis community have been recognized as 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards finalists. Now in its 12th year, the awards program, sponsored by Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems, honors 30 exceptional pharmacy professionals nationwide in 10 categories.
Among those from the UHSP community making this year’s finalist list was John A. Pieper, Pharm.D., FCCP, FAPhA, FFIP, president emeritus of the University, who was recognized in the Lifetime Leadership category.
Other award finalists from the UHSP community included:
- Alicia Forinash, B.S. ’00, Pharm.D. ’01, FCCP, BCPS, BCACP, professor of pharmacy practice, who was recognized in the Patient Care Provider category.
- Dan Kistner, Pharm.D. ‘11, group senior vice president of pharmacy solutions at Vizient, Inc., who was recognized in the Technology Innovator category.
- Jason Wang, Pharm.D. ’11, co-owner of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in St. Louis and Pevely, Missouri, who was recognized in the Entrepreneur category.
The 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards finalists were selected by a renowned panel of peer judges, and represent a cross-section of pharmacy professionals from a variety of pharmacy practice settings, including large chain retailers, independent pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, military bases, health clinics and educational institutions.
Finalists will be formally recognized during a gala event on Oct. 8 at Founder’s Hall in Charlotte, North Carolina. During the event, the winners in each category will be announced, and one winner will be named the 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist®. All finalists will also be featured in the September issue of Pharmacy Times.
