St. Louis College of Pharmacy’s Office of Student Affairs Makes List of Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs

Published on 06 May 2019

The Office of Student Affairs at St. Louis College of Pharmacy was recently recognized by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs for 2019. The College was one of 20 higher education institutions nationwide that was honored for having a student affairs workplace that is vibrant, diverse, supportive and committed to staff work-life balance, professional development and inclusive excellence.

“It is such an honor to lead and be part of a student affairs team that is recognized on a national scale for embodying an inclusive and dynamic workplace,” said Heather French, Ed.D., vice president of student affairs at the College. “Not only do our staff members embrace a student-centered approach and produce high quality services, they also understand the importance of modeling healthy work-life balance for one another and our students.”

Institutions making the 2019 list were evaluated via a web-based survey on a variety of criteria including family-friendliness, salary and benefits, minority-serving institution status, the structural diversity of the institution and its student affairs department, and the professional development and support services opportunities available to student affairs staff members.

The full list of Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs was published in the March 7 edition of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, and winners were formally recognized during the ACPA annual meeting, which took place March 3-6 in Boston.

“The College’s Office of Student Affairs is focused on four guiding principles, which include putting students first, being team-oriented, having a collaborative spirit and being excellence driven,” said French. “It’s so rewarding to be recognized for the work that we do each day, and it’s even more rewarding and fulfilling to see firsthand how our work positively contributes to the student experience at the College. However, none of this would be possible without the great group of talented, caring professionals on the student affairs team who are fully committed to our students and to the institution.”
