With the need for financial aid growing, institutions across the country are stepping in to provide more assistance through scholarships and donor-funded aid programs.
More than 94% of University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis students receive some form of financial aid, and scholarships are vital to ensuring that the world-class education provided at the University is accessible to exceptional, qualified students.
To help close the financial gap for our students, consider a gift to support students through scholarships. Scholarship sponsors and supporters are invited to the annual Scholarship Awards Dinner.
Institutional Scholarships and Financial Aid
Since 2009, tuition and fees for new students has increased 16% and average institutional financial aid awarded to these students from the University’s operating budget has increased by 160%. Changes in higher education’s competitive enrollment landscape and trends in federal financial aid have compelled the University’s growth in financial aid funding.
Scholars Programs Fund
The University’s Scholars Programs provide exceptional students with financial assistance and opportunities to discover their passions. Students selected as scholars explore their interests in community service, laboratory research and leadership through experiences outside of the classroom.
Through these programs, students develop skills to become effective and innovative leaders in healthcare and their communities.
Make a donation today to help us meet the growing needs of our students, provide access to transformational experiences and attract the best and brightest prospective students to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Donor-funded scholarships are an important resource for students with financial need.
- As of June 30, 2019, the total scholarship endowment reached $9.8 million.
- For the 2020-2021 academic year, 482 applications were reviewed by the scholarship awards committee and 182 scholarships totaling over $470,000 were awarded to 168 students.
An annual scholarship provides financial aid for an eligible student each year that a gift is made to the fund. Scholarships of this kind typically start at $1,000 and are awarded annually.
To ensure a scholarship will be awarded by the scholarship committee that year, annual gifts must be received no later than June 30.
An endowed scholarship is a permanent, long-term fund that generates income distributed to students each year.
The creation of an endowed scholarship requires a minimum investment of $25,000, which can be given as a one-time contribution or built over time.
The larger the size of the endowed scholarship balance, the larger the amount or number of award(s) given to students.
