DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Fostering a Culture of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, people from around the world come together in pursuit of a shared goal—improving the health of all of our communities. Their diverse cultures, values, beliefs, interests, experiences and viewpoints enrich our campus community and make us all better health care providers and human beings.

As an institution dedicated to health care, it is critical that we prioritize cultural competence, social justice and advocacy, and an appreciation of diverse perspectives. UHSP is dedicated to fostering an environment that protects and values differences within our diverse community.

Through our Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, UHSP is building a welcoming environment on campus and creating educational programming and experiences to prepare students to thrive in an interconnected world.

We strive to foster a diverse and inclusive environment through intentional involvement and empowerment that promotes and sustains a sense of belonging.

INCLUSIVE SPACES AT UHSP

BIAS INCIDENT REPORTING

As outlined in the Bias Incident Response Policy, UHSP is committed to establishing and nurturing an environment that actively acknowledges and values diversity, equity and inclusion and is free from any type of prejudice, intolerance or harassment.

UHSP does not tolerate incidents of discrimination and will seek a positive resolution of all such matters.

Incidents of bias should be reported using the Bias Incident Report form.

SOCIAL AWARENESS AND CULTURAL SENSITIVITY TRAINING

UHSP presents a number of training opportunities throughout the year to educate student pharmacists on how to respond to patients’ needs and preferences as well as recognize cultural, racial and social inequities in health care.
