Brenda Gleason

Dr. Gleason is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty Fellow in the Office of the President, and Professor of Pharmacy Practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1997 and her Doctor of Pharmacy in 1998 from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She completed an ASHP-Accredited Primary Care Residency at the John Cochran VAMC in 1999.

In her administrative role, Dr. Gleason is responsible for implementing and assessing the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum and leads accreditation efforts at the College. Prior to assuming an administrative position, her clinical practice was in Managed Care Drug Information with direct patient care services provided in an adult internal medicine clinic.

Teaching responsibilities include DSM I: Clinical Epidemiology, a required course in the fifth year of the academic program.

Dr. Gleason is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), where she completed the organization's Academic Leadership Fellows Program and was a member of the Advisory Panel for the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Education's (CAPE) 2013 Educational Outcomes. She also serves as Secretary for AACP's Curriculum SIG. Dr. Gleason is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), where she is a Faculty Member in the Academy Teaching and Learning Certificate Program and formerly served as Secretary/Treasurer of ACCP's Education and Training Practice and Research Network. Dr. Gleason serves as an accreditation site evaluator for the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.

Locally, Dr. Gleason serves as an Advisory Board Member to Raising STL, a program sponsored by BJC Healthcare to address the health and social service needs of children in St. Louis city.

Dr. Gleason is the co-author of the textbook, Contemporary Drug Information-An Evidence-Based Approach, and has several publications and presentations in the areas of teaching, learning, and assessment.
