Meet the Staff

Susan Stevenson Moore, LCSW, Director of Counseling and Wellness

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and a Master of Clinical Social Work from Boston University, Moore has focused her career on pursuing excellence in the treatment and support of mental health. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri since 1999. Her passion is understanding the individual in relationship to their environment and how the brain impacts behavior.

In the early part of her career, Moore served as a medical social worker for various organizations. During her career, she has served as a counselor and case manager for various social services agencies where she provided counseling services and support to individuals and families with a variety of mental health concerns.

Moore is deeply inspired to assist her clients to attain the relief that they deserve. Since 2002, she has focused her career on treatment of trauma. Her heartfelt desire for helping people and her love of applied physiology has combined to assist her in building a deep understanding of the neurophysiology of impactive trauma. Moore has developed clinical expertise in the treatment of attachment, developmental and event trauma treatment. She is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association-approved consultant and certified EDMR clinician. She is certified in sensorimotor psychotherapy Integration and has training in dialectical behavior therapy, structural dissociation theory and parts theory. Moore is also focusing on training in neurophysiology and psychophysiology and is pursuing certification in quantitative electroencephalogram and neurotherapy (neurobiofeedback). 

Moore has been married for 24 years, has three beautiful children and more pets than people in her household. She is devoted to her family. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, reading, gardening, knitting, crocheting and shopping. She loves the outdoors and tries to get outside as often as she can.

Jay Fisk, J.D., M.S.W, Licensed Master Social Worker

Fisk is a licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Missouri.

Fisk specializes in anxiety, depression, relational and identity issues, LGBTQIA and transgender populations and trauma.

Fisk uses integrative talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and mindfulness techniques in his sessions.

Heather Forys, Counseling Intern

Heather is earning her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Central Methodist University. Having worked in youth residential treatment programs and more recently with families and individuals living in the crisis of poverty she has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and family and financial related trauma. 

Heather integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, family systems, and logotherapy techniques in her sessions.
