About the Program
Through a partnership with University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), students in the professional program can integrate their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) saving time and gaining the education and experience to continue into entrepreneurship or management.
Students enrolled in the program can use courses to satisfy certain requirements in both degrees.

Admission Requirements
Pharm.D. students at St. Louis College of Pharmacy at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis are not required to take the GMAT or GRE. Requirements for admission to the Graduate Business Program at UMSL include:
- 120 college credits completed
- Two letters of recommendation
- Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0
- Interview with the UMSL Graduate Office
Courses Approved for Transfer to UMSL
Students participating in the integrated Pharm.D./MBA program will be able to transfer up to nine credit hours as elective credit toward the UMSL MBA degree, which requires a minimum of 30 credit hours.
- Pharmacy Leadership and Change (3 credits)
- HSM: Financial and Economics Aspects (4 credit class, transfers as 3 credits)
- Introductions to Pharmacy Entrepreneurship (3 credits)
- Introduction to Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research (3 credits)
Graduate Certificate Program
Students may also take courses to earn a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. Through the program, students at UHSP can transfer up to six credit hours toward the graduate certificate, which requires a minimum of 18 credit hours.
Students may also apply the credits earned in the certificate program toward the MBA at a later date.

Tailoring Your Education to Your Interests
UHSP’s Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program allows students to customize their plan of study to meet their career goals through elective focus areas such as clinical services, public health, disease state management and research. Elective Focus Areas allow students to explore pharmacy-related topics in depth.
The Health Care Management and Entrepreneurship elective focus area pairs well with the MBA, as many of the electives are eligible to transfer.
The MBA program at UMSL allows students to obtain an emphasis in accounting, finance, information systems, international business, logistics and supply chain management, management, marketing or operations management.
Depending on emphasis area chosen, students may be required to complete additional coursework.
